Richard joined Rubery Owen in January 2015 and is the fourth generation Group CEO.
Richard gained a BA (Hons) in English literature at Bristol University. After University he worked for Bass, Mattel and Hallmark in sales, marketing and general management roles. During that time he also gained an MBA from Reading University.
Richard spent two years heading the sales and marketing teams within a division of Rentokil-Initial during a significant phase of the company’s turnaround. He was then approached to become Managing Director of Ecolution, an equity backed venture in the Renewables/Construction sector, based near London. This company has become the largest in their sector and Richard is still active on the Board.
During this time, Richard became a Fellow and Chartered Director within the Institute of Directors.
Kevin graduated from the University of Sheffield in 1998 with a BA (Hons) in Modern History and Politics. Having completed a gap year in Australia, he joined Ernst and Young as a graduate trainee in 2001 and progressed to Audit Senior Manager, leaving in 2012 to take on the role of Chief Accountant at Neovia Logistics, which had recently divested from Caterpillar Inc. He then moved on to the RAC where he worked with large corporate customers as a Senior Finance Business Partner.
Kevin joined ROH as Group Finance Director in January 2016 and has made a significant contribution to shaping the strategic direction of the Group.
Chris joined the ROH Board as a Non-Executive Director in 2015. As an internationally experienced NED, Chris has strong interests in engineering, manufacturing, technology and international markets. His strengths lie in general management, sales, marketing and strategy backed by commercial acumen.
Chris is currently Chief Executive of Dymag Performance wheels, who manufacture carbon fibre wheels for both motorcycles and high performance cars
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Chris has a proven track record of operating at senior board level within the Public and Private Sector.
Chris became a Non-Executive Director of Rubery Owen Holdings in 2015 and brings to the board over 30 years commercial experience in driving change, whilst managing risk and developing and embedding innovative strategies to support the growth of the Group.
Edward is third generation (mother, Jean Owen was the daughter of the founder AE Owen) and joined the board of Rubery Owen as a non-exec director in 2019.
Educated at St Andrews University Edward gained a BSC honours degree in physics and applied mathematics and went on to gain an MSc whilst working in Musselburgh in a contract research company.
Edward has extensive knowledge and expertise within the computer industry having started his own company from scratch in the 1980s. It took many years to build up the company to become one of the largest suppliers of computer solutions for builders and timber merchants in the United Kingdom, before Edward disposed of his share in 1995.
Simon Owen, great grandson of the founder of Rubery Owen, joined the Board in 2019. Educated at Oundle School, he went on to gain a BSC Hons in Estate Management. A Chartered Surveyor, he has developed a comprehensive understanding of the residential and commercial property market. Simon is also a professional award-winning photographer and, in 2009, set up content agency Wonderhatch, which has an annual turnover of over £3m with 20 employees.
Lindsay joined Rubery Owen in 2015 and is responsible for all marketing activities across the RO Group. She has experience across large B2C and B2B organisations, working in-house at Whitbread and Boehringer Ingelheim, and at agency level in the drinks, pharmaceutical and leisure sectors in the UK and Internationally.
Tina joined Rubery Owen in 2019, as Group HR Manager. She is responsible for the full HR function across all 7 sites, including apprenticeships.
She has extensive experience of working in HR, across various different sectors. In addition, to working both for both International and UK based organisations. She also holds both a BA Hons in Business Administration and further CIPD qualifications.
Poppy joined the Rubery Owen team in 2019. Poppy is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and works with each of our six businesses to align their marketing strategies with overall business development and growth plans.
Focusing predominantly on the digital aspects of marketing, she is heavily focused on digital behaviours, enquiry generation, metric and conversion analysis in addition to ROI management.
Annette has been with Rubery Owen since 2019, when she joined as ROH Payroll Manager.
Annette has 30 years’ experience working in payroll bureau. She manages payroll for the whole Rubery Owen group as well as working with our HR department to support with HR duties.
Jane joined Rubery Owen in 2021 as a HR Administrator. Jane is responsible for supporting the HR function with HR Administration for the Rubery Owen Group.
Jane has over 20 years working experience within HR and holds a CIPD, ILM and Business Administration qualifications. Jane has supported HR Senior Management teams with HR administration, recruitment and on-boarding activities, policy development, staff wellbeing, training and H&S administration across Manufacturing, Distribution and Public sectors.
